Privacy Policy — Perun The Overseer
Effective date: October 17, 2026
Perun The Overseer ("Perun", "the Software") is a local-first application. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers.
What data does Perun process?
Perun runs entirely on your local machine. All project metadata, configuration, memory (facts and indexed documentation), logs, and run history are stored locally in:
~/.perun/perun.db(SQLite database)~/.perun/config.json(local configuration)~/.perun/runs/(run logs)~/.perun/logs/(application logs)
Third-party services
When you enable semantic search, Perun can connect to a local Ollama instance to generate embeddings using models like nomic-embed-text. This communication happens only between your machine and your local Ollama server (typically http://localhost:11434). No data is sent to us or any third-party service by Perun.
Telegram integration (optional)
If you configure the optional Telegram bridge, Perun connects to the Telegram Bot API to receive updates and send messages. The bot token and chat IDs remain stored locally in your configuration. Message content is processed locally on your machine.
Network access
Perun may make outbound network requests only for:
- Connecting to your local Ollama instance (if enabled)
- Connecting to the Telegram Bot API (if Telegram bridge is configured)
- Serving the local dashboard on
http://127.0.0.1:8760
Perun does not phone home, collect telemetry, or send analytics.
Data retention and control
You have full control over your data. You can delete the ~/.perun directory at any time to remove all stored data. You can also uninstall Perun using the provided installers or python -m perun install --uninstall.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
